Our Story
Fused & Fired is more than an art studio—it's a family legacy born from a shared love for the transformative power of heat and clay.
The studio began as a quiet corner of a suburban Chicago garage, where a daughter's lifelong passion for ceramics met a mother's curiosity for the luminous world of fused glass. What started as weekend experiments soon grew into a professional practice fueled by the belief that art should be shared, tactile, and deeply personal.
As the studio's primary ceramicist, the Daughter serves as the Master of the Wheel. With years of dedicated practice, she focuses on functional stoneware designed to fit perfectly in the hand, finished with unique glazes that transform during the intense heat of the kiln.
The Mother, acting as the Visionary of Glass, brings a fascination with transparency and color to the kiln. Her fused glass explorations play with light and texture, creating decorative panels and functional art that capture the beauty of the Chicago sky and lakefront.
In 2026, we officially rebranded to Fused & Fired Art Studio to better reflect this dual focus: the earthy, grounded nature of fired ceramics and the vibrant, translucent beauty of kiln-fused glass. Every piece we create is a collaborative effort—a true family legacy made by hand.
